PerryGolf is proud to partner with Azamara® for an exceptional 16-night, 6-round golf and sightseeing voyage to New Zealand and Australia. This cruise with less than 700 guests onboard the outstanding Azamara Pursuit begins in Melbourne, cultural capital of Australia. After a call to the beautiful Eden, Australia, we proceed to Sydney, with its spectacular and iconic harbor. We then cross the Tasman Sea to experience a country-intensive visit to both the south and north islands of New Zealand, our first call being to the dramatic Milford Sound. We’ll savor the wine regions of Marlborough and Hawke’s Bay. Our six rounds include Sydney’s outstanding The Lakes Golf Club, and New Zealand’s stunning world renowned Cape Kidnappers and Kauri Cliffs.

This voyage presents the perfect opportunity to leave the northern hemisphere’s winter behind for the sunshine and long daylight hours of a Southern Hemisphere summer!   Our golf program also includes Otago Golf Club in Dunedin, one of the oldest clubs in the southern Hemisphere, plus the outstanding Christchurch Golf Club and Royal Wellington Golf Club.

Azamara Pursuit which serves as our perfect floating boutique hotel and clubhouse, is a small-sized luxury vessel nimble enough to access smaller ports yet large enough to provide every amenity you would expect, from a choice of fine dining and live entertainment to a well-equipped gym and full-service spa. Forty-six suites are available with English butler style service which routinely book early. Sailing schedules often include extended stays in port plus the occasional overnight which creates a truly immersive experience. Better still, these cruises are inclusive of a selection of beer, spirits, soft drinks, bottled water, specialty coffees plus wine with lunch and dinner along with gratuities for housekeeping, dining and bar staff. Azamara also proudly boasts two unique signature events on each cruise - AzAmazing Evening℠ and the White Night party – complimentary to all guests and consistently well received.

Every aspect of the golf program is fully managed by PerryGolf staff onboard and ashore. Your clubs will be ready and waiting at each venue. Tee times and pairings arranged and posted in advance. A convenient transportation schedule allows suitable time to warm up at the range, and to make the almost inevitable pro shop merchandise purchase. Carts are always included, subject to availability. A friendly competition is staged at a selected course, with prizes awarded at our farewell gathering. A snack lunch is included on-course plus an open bar operates in the clubhouse at the conclusion of the round. Our typical guest list which brings together like-minded individuals, generally numbers between 40 and 50, with new friendships invariably formed during each cruise. Many guests are golfing couples but an equal number are golfers travelling with a non-golfing spouse. Specially arranged onboard golf group social functions, to which all accompanying non-golfing spouses are most warmly welcomed, further enhances the club-like environment. The award winning Azamara Shore Excursions® program, offering a wide variety of off-ship excursions, also caters beautifully our non-golfing guests during days when our golfing excursions are underway.

The “2026 New Zealand & Australia Golf Cruise” is a genuinely full-featured vacation and a unique opportunity to enjoy yourself in the company of like-minded new friends!

JANUARY 6, tuesday: EDEN, AUSTRALIA (8:00AM / 4:00PM)

If you’re chasing paradise along the shores of the Sapphire Coast, you’ll find it in Eden. Set on the breath-taking Twofold Bay, Eden’s laid-back atmosphere, charming locals, and stunning natural surroundings make it a destination you’ll never want to leave. Start by making your way to the Eden Lookout, where the best views of Twofold Bay are found. In the distance, marvel at the vast hinterland, as well as Boyd’s tower – an elaborate structure crafted from sandstone that was once used as a lookout for whale spotting.

If adventure is calling your name, pay a visit to Ben Boyd National Park for an up-close look at Australia’s coastal wilderness. While you’re here, enjoy an unforgettable bush walk that makes its way through the forests and rugged headlands of the region before arriving on the sandy beach for some much-deserved relaxation. History buffs will want to spend time at the Eden Killer Whale Museum to learn the unbelievable story of the Killers of Eden – a pod of killer whales who worked alongside humans to help them hunt baleen whales.

Foodies will feel right at home in Eden, as the area is renowned for its award-winning cheese and dairy products, as well as for the fresh seafood served daily in the restaurants and cafes near Snug Cove. Before returning to your boutique hotel at sea, take time to sample the signature Sydney Rock Oyster – the only true Australian oyster – which is well known for its creamy sweet flavoring.

Enjoy Eden on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

Your first stop should be the UNESCO World Heritage-designated Sydney Opera House, a prominent feature of Sydney’s famous skyline. Get out and explore the streets to shop, dine, and view spectacular architecture and heritage buildings including Parliament House, Sydney Town Hall, and the Australian Museum. For a chance to feel like you’re away from the city without having to travel far, hop on the ferry and head to Manly Beach to enjoy miles and miles of white sand and turquoise water. In nearby Darling Harbor you can visit The Rocks, where much of Sydney’s past is hidden in plain sight alongside hip restaurants, cafés, and shops, not to mention spectacular views of Sydney’s other iconic landmark—the Harbor Bridge.

The famous native Shark, Greg Norman, once made a 12 on this hole in competition.

The Club Patron is former Club Champion Sir Bob Charles, New Zealand’s most successful professional golfer, best known for winning the 1963 British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes, England.

Enjoy everything Māori Hāngī and an afternoon of high tea, to traditional meat pies, whitebait fritters, and fish and chips. Try a dessert of Anzac biscuits, pavlova, or hokey pokey ice cream and top it all off with a glass of world-renowned sauvignon blanc or a local craft beer.

GOLF: Cape Kidnappers is consistently rated the #1 course in New Zealand and has received critical acclaim from around the golfing world. This Tom Doak design occupies a huge expanse of property, with the drive from the public road to the clubhouse taking you through a sheep and cattle station. The much photographed course has a number of holes separated by deep ravines which run down to the South Pacific Ocean. The course also offers commanding views over the wine region of Hawke's Bay and the nearby small port town of Napier.

SIGHTSEEING: Napier is located in Hawke’s Bay on the eastern coast of the North Island. It has a population of 60,000 and together with its sister city Hastings, is referred to as one of “The Bay Cities.” Its exceptional concentration of 1930s Art Deco architecture is symptomatic of the city having been razed by the 1931 Hawke’s Bay earthquake. Make a pilgrimage to Pania of the Reef, a statue of a figure of Māori mythology, and one of the most photographed tourist attractions in the country. Take a guided walk around the city, or visit the gannet colony at Cape Kidnappers.

Gisborne is known for its superb cuisine, wineyards and surf beaches. It is labelled the “Chardonnay Capital of New Zealand” and does not disappoint with its all-encompassing wine trail. Historically, Captain Cook’s first New Zealand landing – in October 1796 – was Kaiti Beach, which neighbors scenic Te Poho O Rawiri Marae.  Maori culture is evident in Gisborne with records recognizing Titirangi (Kaiti) Hill as the site of arrival for the migratory waka (canoe), ‘Horouta’, which carried the first Maori to the region.

Enjoy Gisborne on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

Overnight: At Sea

JANUARY 18, sunday: TAURANGA, NEW ZEALAND (8:00AM / 6:00PM)

GOLF: Kauri Cliffs was designed and built by David Harman of Golf Course Consultants, Orlando, Florida. It is a par 72 championship golf course that measures 7,119 yards with a selection of  five sets of tees to challenge every skill level. Tee selection is an important decision here, with gorges and fairways with some of the healthiest and thickest grass in the world making it easy to mount up a tally of lost balls. Fifteen holes view the Pacific Ocean, six of which are played alongside cliffs which plunge to the sea. The beautiful inland holes wind through marsh, forest and farmland. Kauri Cliffs is currently ranked by Golf Digest as #39 among the top 100 in the world.

Short VIDEO - Kauri Cliffs Golf Course

SIGHTSEEING: Waitangi is the home of the Māori culture. If one of us walks right up, leans in close, and touches noses with you, don’t be alarmed. We’re just saying a friendly “hongi” hello. You may have seen the haka dance, which has been made famous by the New Zealand Rugby team before the start of a match or watched the movie Whale Rider. However when it comes to really understanding and appreciating the Māori culture and people, the best way to do so is visit Waitangi. Māori chiefs signed their 1840 accord with the British Crown at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, making it New Zealand’s most historic site. Not only does Waitangi honour the birthplace of a nation and offer stunning views of the Bay of Islands, but it also features cultural and musical performances, including, yes, the haka. So if you’ve ever wanted to dive into an absolute treasure trove of all things Māori, come with us to Waitangi.

Enjoy Bay of Islands on your own or via Azamara Shore Excursions®.

Disembark Azamara Pursuit by 9:00AM.

SIGHTSEEING: Auckland is the capital and most populous city in New Zealand. The only city in the world built on an active basaltic volcanic field;  its warm, coastal climate allows for surfing at black-sand beaches, picnics in secluded coves, or horseback riding.  Tour a sheep farm, take a guided tour of the coastal rainforest, or go on a harbor cruise. Immerse yourself in Auckland’s art, Māori culture, and history.  View the beauty of the coastline from above when you go hang gliding, or take a trip around the winemaking regions of either Matakana or Waiheke Island.

<The Lakes Golf Club

A regular host for major professional tournaments in Australia, The Lakes is defined by kikuyu grass fairways, slippery bentgrass greens that rest atop ancient sand hills bordered by water and the Airport-City Freeway that bisects the course. The signature hole is the 14th, a tantalizing short par-5 that dares long hitters to clear the water short and attempt to reach a deep, heavily undulating green. The famous native Shark, Greg Norman, once made a 12 on this hole in competition.

<Otago Golf Club

Otago Golf Club was formed in 1871, and is one of the oldest golf clubs in the entire Southern Hemisphere. In 1893 the first New Zealand Amateur Championship was held here, and Otago has gone on to host this tournament on ten further occasions. In 1971, the great Peter Thomson won the New Zealand Open at The Otago. Other golfing legends such as Gene Sarazen, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player have graced this historical golf course’s fairways.

<Christchurch Golf Club

Christchurch Golf Club has a proud history that dates back to 1873. The club is the second oldest in New Zealand and the fifth oldest outside the United Kingdom. Its Shirley Links course has held numerous New Zealand Open and Amateur Championships. In 1990 it hosted the World Amateur Team Championship. The course is renowned world-wide as a challenging championship course of the highest quality which offers a fair test of golf for both club and professional golfer. The Club Patron is former Club Champion Sir Bob Charles, New Zealand’s most successful professional golfer, best known for winning the 1963 British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes, England.

<Royal Wellington Golf Club

Royal Wellington Golf Club was the first club to receive “Royal” status in New Zealand. It enjoys a beautiful setting alongside the Hutt River near Silverstream. Founded in 1895 at Miramar, the club moved to Heretaunga in 1908 and built an 18 hole course along with its current historic and elegant club house. The course was expanded from 18 to 27 holes in 1972. The present championship course was redesigned by Greg Turner and Scott Macpherson and opened in 2013. Royal Wellington has been host to seven New Zealand Open Championships and host venue of the 2017 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship.

<Cape Kidnappers

Cape Kidnappers is consistently rated the #1 course in New Zealand and has received critical acclaim from around the golfing world. This Tom Doak design occupies a huge expanse of property, with the drive from the public road to the clubhouse taking you through a sheep and cattle station. The golf course is set on pristine land, wedged between the station and the huge cliffs of the Cape. The much photographed course has a number of holes separated by deep ravines which run down to the South Pacific Ocean. The course also offers commanding views over the wine region of Hawke's Bay and the nearby small port town of Napier.

<Kauri Cliffs

Kauri Cliffs was designed and built by David Harman of Golf Course Consultants, Orlando, Florida. It is a par 72 championship golf course that measures 7,119 yards / 6,510 metres with a selection of five sets of tees to challenge every skill level.

Important Information

Golf Handicap Limit: The golf courses we play around the world offer varying challenges. Players often require to be of a certain standard to properly and fully experience them in the company of likeminded fellow golfers. We therefore set a maximum permitted golf handicap to participate on our tours and cruises; The maximums are 28 for men and 36 for ladies.

Golf Courses: The included list may be subject to change in the event of any club accepting any conflicting national or international event, or for any other reason. Should such a situation occur, PerryGolf will endeavour to book a course of comparable standard, and all booked guests would be notified of the change and replacement venue at the earliest opportunity.

Transfers: No transfers are included to or from the ship at arrival/departure airports.
