Your Itinerary
Lough Eske Castle traces its roots all the way back to the late 1400’s and the famous O’Donnell family that founded the nearby town of Donegal. The original castle was first built around 1474. A date stone of 1621 remains on the property to this day. The current Lough Eske Castle was constructed in the 1860s on the site of an old Brooke mansion, but was destroyed by fire in 1939. The renovated Lough Eske Castle stands as a continuing testament to the rich history of Lough Eske and the surrounding region. The Castle has two excellent restaurants Cedars Grill and The Gallery Bar, on site is also a fantastic spa. The Castle is in the ideal location to play Donegal Golf Course, which is only a 10 minute drive.<Day 3 ~ Narin & Portnoo Golf Club

The routing takes golfers on a journey through huge dunes, to high above Sheephaven Bay, along the coast, then back over some more gentle dunes. With plenty of width and an eclectic mix of naturalised bunkers, the course is destined to become a must play.
<Day 5 ~ The European Club
Today play The European Club (tbc) at Brittas Bay. Tucked amid tumbling dunes 30 miles south of Dublin, the European Club has been appreciated from the time it opened in 1987 as one of Ireland's finest links courses. The 7th has been ranked among the top 100 holes in the world. It’s a 470-yard par-4 set on a sandbank through a bed of reeds with a burn right, beyond which are a hundred acres of unspoiled links land, and towering dunes left. Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Padraig Harrington have played here and enjoyed the course because it demands both solid ballstriking and sound strategy. Dunes block the view of the Atlantic Ocean on many holes at Donegal, which is on the Murvagh Penninsula with the Bluestack Mountains in the background. However, the sound of waves crashing serves as the soundtrack for each swing. The inward loop is protected by those dunes, so take time to savor the view from the elevated tee at No. 8, a sensational par-5. The 2011 Open Champion Darren Clarke is a member here and labels the layout as one of his favorites.
