Somewhat flat, with man-made elevations, the course features 116 beautiful strategic bunkers. It’s a thinking man’s course, one where smart strategic decisions favor a plodder rather than a bomber who strays shots about. The course has played host to several French Open championships. The 18th is a marvelous 440 yard-par 4, but it’s the 14th, measuring roughly the same distance that was included in the book “World’s 500 Greatest Golf Holes,” written by George Peper and the editors of Golf Magazine.
