Product Manager, Escorted Tours & Cruises

Job Purpose

The Product Manager reports to the Director of Product and Sales and contributes to the creation and management of our worldwide portfolio of escorted small group tours and golf cruises. The ideal candidate should thrive in both independent work and collaborative meetings, combining logistical management skills with a passion for crafting unique global travel experiences

Key Duties

New tour development

  • Develop trip concepts and itineraries for new destinations in conjunction with Destination Management Company (DMC) partners and ground suppliers (e.g. golf courses, hotels and transportation providers)

  • Establish tour costing budgets and recommended pricing for all set departures based on target margins and competitor benchmarking

  • Manage inventory for set departures and liaise with marketing team and ground suppliers as needed

Quality control

  • Review client surveys and host debriefs to capture improvement opportunities, facilitating feedback loop to DMCs, ground suppliers, ship teams and PerryGolf product team for future tour refinement

  • Work with the Customer Relations Representative to respond to clients for escalated product quality issues, where appropriate

Ground / ship services coordination

  • In partnership with the Product Coordinator, request and confirm bookings for hotels, golf courses, ground transportation, guides, and other ancillary services as may be required from time to time

  • Liaise with onboard teams of our cruise partner (Azamara) in providing various golf-group details

  • Establish the optimum final arrangements and required timings for ground transportation and golf arrangements, subject to finalised ship or flight timings

Host management

  • Schedule host teams for set departure date tours and provide detailed tour information to assist them prior to their trips

  • Establish and manage host pre-trip briefing and post-trip debriefing process

  • Establish and manage central product knowledge base to capture key details for each destination for educating future hosts and sales team members

Desirable Experience & Traits

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum 5 years experience in travel, hospitality or events management

  • Knowledge of and/or interest in the game of golf considered a plus but not required

  • Strong advantage to candidates with background in contracting charters/group space with hotels/ships/trains/private aviation

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with a passion for details

  • Knack for problem solving, details, and collaboration, with strong organizational skills

  • Strong map reading, geography, and logistical expertise preferred

  • Ability to build relationships through a variety of mediums

  • Understanding of foreign currency translation

  • Ability to work on multiple projects, trips, decisions concurrently, meet deadlines, respect budgets, and prioritize

  • Commitment to technology, quality data entry, and dedicated on-going learner

  • Intermediate to Advanced in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word and Excel) as well as working with databases

  • An efficient time manager who can multi-task with involvement in multiple projects at the same time

  • A cool head under pressure. Given the nature of travel, occasionally matters out of our control will require quick and committed decisions to ensure optimum alternative arrangements are secured, and the best possible guest experience is achieved

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary paid. By negotiation, and subject to the experience of the candidate.

Job Location

  • Scotland and / or UK-based candidates preferred, must be able to commute to the office in Helensburgh, Scotland from time to time. US-based candidates will also be considered.

Product Coordinator, Escorted Tours & Cruises

Job Purpose

The Product Coordinator reports to the Director of Product and Sales and is

Key Duties

  • Request and confirm bookings for hotels, golf courses, ground transportation, guides, and other ancillary services as may be required from time to time. This will involve communication with ground suppliers (e.g. golf courses and hotels) and trusted Destination Management Companies (DMCs) through whom certain services are contracted

  • Liaise with the respective onboard teams of our cruise partner (Azamara) in providing various golf-group details

  • Update ground suppliers on the status of our sales progress as required from time to time

  • Establish the optimum final arrangements and required timings for ground transportation and golf arrangements, subject to finalised ship or flight timings

  • Create and maintain our tour planning grids following standard company template

  • Provide detailed final information to ground suppliers, including guest lists, timings, agreed arrangements, based around our standard company template

  • Approve invoices and initiate payments to ground suppliers and to host teams

  • Record actual costs and reconciling against budgeted costs.

  • Follow up with ground suppliers and DMCs to ensure our strong relationships and very high-quality standards are maintained

  • Provide feedback to our cruise & tour development team on your views of the respective strengths of each supplier partner and DMC in delivering an outstanding guest experience

Job Location
