We begin our tour with a 3-night stay at the outstanding Trump Turnberry Resort on Scotland’s Southwest Coast. With stunning views across to Ailsa Craig and with luxury amenities and unrivalled service, we welcome you to relax, unwind and enjoy. This iconic resort is also host to Ailsa course, home to the unforgettable “Duel In the Sun“ in 1977 between two of the greatest golfers ever to grace the fairways, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson.

Our next stop in Scotland is a 45 minute drive from Turnberry along the Ayrshire Coast to Royal Troon, home of The 152nd Open in 2024. Here you can challenge yourself by playing the shortest hole on the Open Course Rota – the iconic 8th hole The Postage Stamp. We also will enjoy visiting the historical Culzean Castle and Dumfries House as well as taking in the delights of this stunning coastline.

Departing Turnberry, we start our journey traveling towards the Port of Cairnryan to board our ferry to Belfast. We will sail across the Irish Sea and arrive in Belfast, Northern Ireland. After arrival in Belfast, we will embark on a City overview tour before we check into your hotel room at the fabulous Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast, located right in the centre of the city adjacent to Grand Opera House. This will be our accommodation for the next 5 nights as we explore the Titanic Museum, St Georges Market in the City of Belfast, the delightful town of Downpatrick before making our way to Royal Portrush to enjoy the weekend's play at the The 153rd Open.

Our first golf stop in Northern Ireland is a drive south to the coastal town of Newcastle to the world-renowned Royal County Down, consistently ranked in the World’s Top 10 courses this outstanding links presents a true challenge set against the magnificent backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne.

Our final day playing golf is at the oldest golf club in Ireland Royal Belfast , this terrific parkland layout in a majestic, wooded setting provides a stern test that’s pleasing for all players. Designed by Harry Colt (of Royal Portrush fame) this course is described by Padraig Harrington as a “Hidden Gem” and counts a certain Rory McIlroy as a member.

On Saturday we travel by coach to capture the third days play at the The 153rd Open, Royal Portrush Golf Club. The Dunluce Links is rated as one of the most challenging and spectacular links courses in the world. The Links is named after the nearby ruins of the medieval Dunluce Castle located on the edge of a basalt outcropping overlooking the sea between Portrush and Portballintrae.

The original architect was the famed Harry Colt who produced a breathtaking golf links with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. In 2015, for the hosting of The Open in 2019, redesign works commenced under the stewardship of Martin Ebert. For the next 18 months, the shifting sands gave way to the building of five new greens, eight new tee boxes, 10 new bunkers and the creation of two new holes, the 7th and 8th, on land which was once part of the Valley Links. The result is a magnificent layout providing a fair and scenically stunning challenge for even the best golfers in the world. We will then return to Belfast to discuss the days play and who we think will raise the Claret Jug aloft the following day!

With much excitement and anticipation on Sunday morning, we will then return to Royal Portrush for the enthralling final days play! Who will follow in Shane Lowrys footsteps from 2019?? When Shane triumphed over this magnificent links, he was rumoured to be celebrating in the bars of Belfast for days pints of Irelands finest flowing! Another home win for the Irish would surely be celebrated in a similar fashion.

If you enjoy combining your love of golf with a passion for travel, you’ll find a relaxing and highly rewarding experience on this Escorted Tour. Every aspect is fully managed from the handling of your luggage and equipment to hotel and golf course check ins. Meals including a full breakfast each day, guided sightseeing, carts / caddies, and gratuities (excluding caddies) are included in addition to light lunch, snacks and an open bar for beer and wine during our time at each of the golf courses. We hope you will join us for this most special tour in the company of like-minded new friends.

The “Iceman “Henrik Stenson out-dueled Phil Mickelson in an epic battle at the 145th Open Championship in 2016 which was viewed by many as the finest head-to-head battle on a finals day play since the Dual in the Sun in 1977 at Turnberry featuring Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson. Host to 152nd Open in 2024 we are sure a new champion will etch more rich memories into the fine history of this special course.

Golf Schedule

Trump Turnberry - Ailsa Course image

You can’t rush perfection, Turnberry’s Ailsa Course is proof.  It was established in 1902, modified in 1906, modified again in 1909, redesigned in 1938 then nearly disappeared after the Second World War when it was converted into an airbase with several holes flattened into concrete runways. It was restored and reopened in 1951 as one of Scotland’s finest links to the extent it hosted The Open for the first time in 1977 when Tom Watson’s 65-65 weekend beat Jack Nicklaus’ 65-66.  MacKenzie & Ebert made extensive alterations before The Open in 2009 then Ebert returned for a major update in 2015.  The result is spectacular, particularly but by no means limited to holes 9-11 that play across and along the bay atop rock outcrops on the left; dunes, pot bunkers and high fescue on the right.  The club’s famous lighthouse includes an incredible two-bedroom suite and one of the most memorable halfway houses in golf.

Royal Troon image

Royal Troon is a course in the current Open rota.  Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Tom Weiskopf (his only win in a major) have won here as did Henrik Stenson whose Sunday round of 63 outlasted Phil Mickelson’s 65 to claim The 145th Open.  A long links that is consistently praised for its testing but fair set up. Troon boasts the shortest hole among Open venues, being the “Postage Stamp” 8th at 126 yards.  The layout gives you a chance to find your game with a gentle opening but the inward nine is considered one of the most difficult sides in major championship golf.

Royal County Down image

Northern Ireland’s Royal County Down is routinely ranked among the World Top 5 and never less than first or second among the great clubs of the UK and Ireland for two reasons: the beauty of the setting and the brilliance of the design. Old Tom Morris authored the first 18 hole course here and gets a healthy share of the credit for this masterpiece but George Coombe and Harry Colt also had a hand in it, as have Donald Steele and Martin & Ebert in recent years.  None would dispute however, that the site as it was found with its rugged dunes, natural corridors and hollows, golden gorse and purple heather was destined for greatness.  The ninth stands out among many.  This 427-yard par 4 begins with a blind tee shot to a fairway found eighty feet down a sidehill plunge where two cross bunkers protect a green saddled between two dunes.

Royal Belfast image

The oldest golf club in Ireland, this terrific parkland layout in a majestic wooded setting provides a stern test that’s pleasing for all players. The course begins with a firm handshake. The opening hole is a challenging dogleg left, featuring a small green that demands a precise iron shot. Tight, dogleg fairways lined by thick rough and strategically placed bunkers fill the landscape, until the 18th hole, a short-to-medium length par-5 that makes birdies available.
