Ryder Cup to Stay in Europe

I recently attended the Scottish Golf Show in Glasgow and although I wasn’t allowed to touch the coveted trophy, I managed to get my picture taken alongside it. [singlepic id=49 w=320 h=240 float=right]

On the back of the success of last year’s competition, everyone at PerryGolf is excited about another high quality encounter and one which I personally cannot wait for!  The Ryder Cup, for me, is comfortably the best event on the sporting calendar. The excitement and drama which unfold on the Sunday afternoon is unrivalled and, all going well, I’ll be there to enjoy the excitement at Gleneagles next year.

Andy Murray Acquires Former Cromlix House

Scottish tennis star Andy Murray has recently purchased the previously known Cromlix House Hotel which is located near Dunblane, Stirlingshire.  Murray plans to convert the Victorian mansion into a Five Star property with 15 rooms situated within the 50 acres of woodlands and gardens.  The hotel will be managed on Murray’s behalf by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI).[singlepic id=48 w=320 h=240 float=]

The vast transformation is scheduled for completion by spring 2014, in advance of next year’s Ryder Cup (which will be held at Gleneagles, a short drive from Dunblane).

Of the purchase, Andy Murray stated, “I am pleased to have acquired Cromlix House and look forward to securing its future as a successful business.

By re-establishing Cromlix as a leading luxury hotel at the heart of Dunblane community we will be able to attract new visitors to the area, create a number of new jobs and focus on supporting other local businesses.  I’m pleased to be able to give something back to the community I grew up in.”

The venue has been a popular choice for weddings in past years; Andy’s brother Jamie married his wife Alejandra Guterrez there in 2010.

The hotel will also feature a Chez Roux fine dining restaurant which will utilise locally sourced produce, another welcome venture to the area.
