Plane Hotel

After having travelled to Australia a couple of years ago and having a great time there, I can easily say the biggest problem is the journey – spending nearly 2 days travelling is not much fun no matter where you are sitting on the plane!  With this mind I was amazed by the article below as, after travelling to Australia, the last place I would want to stay would be on a plane!

Each to their own I guess?

What’s Your Favourite Golf Movie?

Having just watched Tin Cup for the umpteenth time, it got me to wondering which golf movie is most requested.  Apparently a group of guys passing time over a few beers usually ask for something light-hearted such as Caddyshack, Happy Gilmore or The Water Boy.  The Legend of Bagger Vance goes down well because it features Will Smith.  True fans of the game prefer the biographies of great golfers, such as Stroke of Genius (Bobby Jones) or Follow the Sun (Ben Hogan).  We all enjoyed The Greatest Game Ever Played, which tells the story of Francis Ouimet’s win at Brookline – a bit of a weepy for us girls this one!   Most popular?  Caddyshack or Tin Cup.   Do you agree?

French Cuisine in Scotland – The Peat Inn

A favorite amongst PerryGolf clients for a meal while staying in St. Andrews is The Peat Inn; a family run, first class restaurant with three separate dining areas and only a 15 minute drive from the town centre.  During a recent visit to the area, we stopped off for dinner in the evening.

Upon arrival we were led into the lounge area and served canapés while we examined the menus – a nice touch, although be careful not to enjoy the canapés and aperitifs too much if you want to leave room for your meal!  There are three different menus to select from; the Tasting Menu, the Menu of the Day and the Main Menu (this offers a selection of six dishes per course).

If you enjoy French Cuisine, then these menus offer the kind of classic servings that ensure you will return again.

Good News for Scottish Golf!

Phil Mickelson
Phil Mickelson

This year’s Masters Champion, Phil Mickelson, confirmed recently that he can’t wait to return to Loch Lomond and compete in the Barclays Scottish Open this year.  Due to family circumstances, the Californian was unable to compete last year but is determined to do so this year – we will be looking out for him!
