The hotel boasts an 18 hole, Par 72 Championship Golf Course “Arzaga I”, which was designed by Jack Nicklaus II; while the 9-hole course Arzaga II, was designed by Gary Player.  The courses are designed to fit in around the hilly landscape and I think you’ll find they are great courses for both beginners and professionals.

This year’s Europe World Travel Awards event will be held at the Rixos Premium Belek, located in Antalya, Turkey, on October 1st.  I wish good luck to Palazzo Arzaga Hotel Spa & Golf Resort who were nominated in the following categories:

2010 Europe’s Leading Golf Resort

2010 Italy’s Leading Golf Resort

2010 Italy’s Leading Spa Resort

Gleneagles is already well-known throughout the world as a fantastic golf destination; and with them hosting the 2014 Ryder Cup, their great reputation should only become more widespread.

To add to this, Gleneagles have now been selected as the home of the PGA National Academy for Scotland.  This should provide an outstanding facility for golfers and coaches in Scotland.  Congratulations!

Villa d’Este – Italy

One of our most popular hotels in Italy has to be Villa d’Este; the hotel is set on the shores of Lake Como and more than deserves the many awards it has received over the years – the most recent being presented by Forbes Traveler 400 in 2009 for World’s Best Hotel.

The main building was built in 1568 as the summer residence of Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio and was then changed to a luxurious hotel in 1783.  Villa d’Este has 153 bedrooms and with several dining outlets you are spoiled for choice.  It is also in an easily accessible location, only 60 minutes away from Milano Malpensa Airport!

Even with the building’s various upgrades, they have managed to keep the history and garden true to their past and it has proven very popular with our clients and a “must” while in the Lake Como area.  While staying here, golfers could play Villa d’Este Golf Club which is located just 6 miles away – a course that was designed in 1926 by Peter Gannon.  The course is a stunning (but challenging) play.

Gleneagles Hotel Win MICE Award

Scotland’s Gleneagles Hotel is a must-visit for every golfer as it is an absolutely fantastic luxury hotel which is reflected in the fact that they are the winner of many awards; most recently the Meetings and Incentive Travel (M&IT) Gold Award for Top UK hotel.

The hotel was nominated in a shortlist which included The Grove, Chewton Glen and The Dorchester and received the coveted award at a ceremony held in London last month.  They have won several awards for outstanding service (which is a vital in our industry); the spa has won the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Spa Awards for the last 2 years.  Gleneagles Hotel is a resort which boasts every amenity – three top courses (the Kings, Queens & PGA Centenary), excellent restaurants and a fabulous spa.  With a wide range of activities on site – from the shooting school to the off-road 4×4 driving – it is a superb experience for golfers and non golfers alike.
