A spirited romp through Scotland’s Links and Whisky Trails

A sign in the Glasgow Airport proclaims that Scotland is the best small country in the world. Aye, especially if your idea of heaven is hitting true seaside links by day and enjoying a wee dram and genuine Scottish hospitality in a snug pub or castle by night.

In fact, it was over a few amber elixirs with …

The Manor House at Fancourt

The Manor House

Fancourt Resort in South Africa is located in the countryside of George on the renowned Garden Route. This excellent resort has 3 great courses and now has the fabulous added addition of a five star hotel on the estate named The Manor House at Fancourt; a luxury boutique-style hotel.  The building was originally the homestead that was established in 1859 but has been renovated to produce 18 luxury suites.

It’s a great appendage to what is already an excellent resort.

New Zealand’s Darkest Day

I read with sadness this morning the news that Christchurch has been hit by another earthquake just months after the last one in Septembers 2010.  While they were lucky the last time having had no fatalities, this time around the quake was not as strong, however 65 people are reported to have been killed with that number likely to rise.

I have spent some time in the city and it is a great place with some beautiful buildings, especially the cathedral which has been hit badly.  One can only sympathise with the people of this part of the world what with cyclones, floods, earthquakes and forest fires endured in the last few months.  You can see full details of the recent earthquake by clicking here.

Bordeaux in France is a popular area for golf, wine and food.

Les Sources de Caudalie is a luxury hotel located in the heart of renowned vineyards and offers an interesting spa treatment for those seeking something a little different; “Vinotherapie”.  This original and exclusive skin care is based on a combination of hot natural water and the health and beauty enhancing properties of grapes and wines.  Treatments include red wine bath, barrel bath, exhilarating massages, wine and honey wrap, water jet shower, spa bath with jet stream and Turkish bath and these can be incorporated into your tour cost.  The perfect way to pass the day and relax during your vacation.
