It was PerryGolf’s pleasure this week to be a sponsor and support the American Cancer Society’s 2013 Pink Ribbon Classic at the River Club in Suwanee, Georgia.
Over 120 lady golfers, plus nearly as many volunteers and sponsors gathered for the seventh time to raise awareness and funding for the fight against cancer.
2009 British Open Champion Stewart Cink was on hand to hit the ceremonial first drive. River Club member and former Atlanta Braves All-Star catcher, Javy Lopez, was this year’s “designated driver” on 18 where he launched 300 yard bomb after 300 yard bomb on behalf of each group that came through!
The Pink Ribbon Classic is held annually to honor the memory of those who have lost their battle with cancer and to celebrate survivors. This year the event was another success, raising $145,000!
All proceeds from this event are contributed to the American Cancer Society to support its cancer research, advocacy, education, and patient service programs. These programs include the Hope Lodge in Decatur, Georgia, a Patient Resource Navigator at Gwinnett Medical Center, Road to Recovery, and Look Good……Feel Better, a community based, free, national program for women.
